Marc Haensli knows. He knows what it is to feel pure freedom on fresh snow; to live, work and play in the depths of an alpine winter. He knows what it is to stand still on the mountainside, to hear his slow breath and feel alive. He knows the elemental power of the mountains, and he knows what's required to thrive in that landscape. It’s that very knowledge that inspired the creation of Capranea.
Marc represents the evolution of modern-day skiing. Son of the legendary Walter Haensli, co-developer of Head Skiing, two things run very deeply in Marc: a love of the mountains, and a drive to innovate, and it’s those which make Capranea a symbol of progression. Marc grew up with the entrepreneurial spirit of his father, learning the craft of commitment to innovation. It's that heritage that forms the foundation of the brand: an ethos of understanding, craftsmanship, and progress.
Because Marc also knew that skiers everywhere were compromising – on style, on fit, on movement or on feel. Capranea would be the alternative to compromise.
In the mountains of Graubünden, Marc began to design apparel that stretched, flexed and adapted, not just to the moves on the mountain, but the world beyond it: versatile, refined and reliable items that alpine enthusiasts could rely on to streamline and simplify their wardrobe. Capranea’s timeless look and feel would enable wearers to feel confident on the snowy ridge or their way into the office. Using his expertise in apparel development and a deep-running knowledge of snow sports, Marc Haensli created a brand that elevates the alpine experience.
It was a vision set in motion by generations of innovation, but it was a path forward that only Marc could see, and achieve. It’s a vision that lives on today.
